The Government of Bangladesh has committed to ensuring access to affordable and reliable electricity for all citizens by 2021. At present, however, only about half of the population has access to electricity, while supply is hardly reliable for those with access.

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 52 read with section 110 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (No. 59 of 1988), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989. These rules may be called the Central Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules, 2014.
