The United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen ended in an agreement by countries to cap the global temperature rise by committing to significant emission reductions, and to raise finance to kickstart action in the developing world to deal with climate change.

The "Copenhagen Accord" announced at COP 15 in Copenhagen. It agrees to weak and non-legally commitments from developed world and says that mitigation actions of developing nations will be open for "international consultation and analysis".

US president addresses the UNFCCC Climate summit on 18th Dec 2009 i.e., on the final day of the talks.

He believes that it's time for the nations and people of the world to come together behind a common purpose. And must choose action over inaction; the future over the past and meet responsibility to the people, and to the future of the planet.

The three-page text suggests the level of agreement reached by the morning of the final day of the UN climate change summit is extremely weak. It says countries 'ought' to limit global warming to 2C, but does not bind them to do so.

CO2 Baseline Database for the Indian Power Sector (Version 5.0) containing data for 2008-2009. According to Central Electricity Authority, the average CO2 emission rate has increased marginally to 0.82 t CO2/ MWh in the year 2008-09 from 0.79 t CO2/MWh in the year 2007-08 due to the fact that generation from hydro and nuclear plants have declined.
