Activists of Greenpeace, a global non-governmental organisation that takes up environmental issues, today barged into a Bayer Crop science field trial site here, protesting against herbicide-resistant rice trials.

Nagercoil: Kanyakumari Collector Rajendra Ratnoo conducted a surprise check in Primary Agriculture Co-operative Bank at Eraviputhur to verify the stock position of fertilizers and pesticides.

He told a gathering in front of the bank that there was adequate stock of fertilizer and pesticides in the godown. He appealed to them to make use of this opportunity.
