Kerala to go ahead with Kochi Metro Rail project

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan has said that the State will go ahead with the Kochi Metro Rail Project. Rs 50 lakh has been earmarked to start a Metro Rail office in Kochi based on the recommendations of the Delhi Metro Corporation.

Metro Rail extended by 0.6 km

The State Cabinet on Friday gave its approval for extending Metro Rail by 0.6 kms from Jaraganahalli to Puttenahalli at a cost of Rs 681 crore.

This also includes three more metro stations at Banashankari, J P Nagar and Puttenahalli, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Shobha Karandlaje told reporters.
