The small farmers of Central Himalayan region are achieving high level of diversification through rotation of pure crops in space and time, and through mixed cropping systems. The system with a potential to feed the hill population and conserve natural resources, requires serious attention from the policy makers, to survive.

This study deals with the effects of grass buffer strips using Ophiopogon japonicus on reducing soil and nitrogen losses from fertilized plots and the evaluation of the trapping characteristics under different depth of surface water gathered.

The overall objective of this research was the assessment of sugar beet industrial wastewater (SIW) which could affect soil hydraulic property.
