Question raised in Lok Sabha on River Pollution, 18/07/2017. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) in association with the State Pollution Control Boards monitors the river water quality across the country through a network of 1275 monitoring stations on various rivers under the National Water Quality Monitoring Programme. As per the report published by CPCB in February 2015, 302 polluted river stretches have been identified on 275 rivers based on Bio-chemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) levels, a key indicator of organic pollution.

Question raised in Lok Sabha on Crop Insurance Scheme, 18/07/2017. PMFBY envisages coverage of all food crops (cereals, millets and pulses), oilseeds and annual commercial/horticultural crops. Besides above perennial commercial/horticultural crops can be covered under RWBCIS and CPIS is being implemented for coconut growers. However, as per provisons of the schemes State/UT Governments notify the crops in their respective areas. Statewise details of crops notified under PMFBY and RWBCIS during 2016-17 are at Annexure-I.

Question raised in Lok Sabha on Unemployment, 17/07/2017. As per the result of surveys on employment and unemployment conducted by Labour Bureau, Ministry of Labour and Employment, the estimated unemployment rate for persons aged 15 years and above on usual status basis was 4% during 2012-13 and 3.7% during 2015-16 in the country including Chhattisgarh. The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) has set out to produce comprehensive, reliable data sets on renewable energy capacity and use worldwide. The Renewable Energy Statistics 2017 yearbook shows data sets on renewable power-generation capacity for 2007-2016, renewable power generation for 2007-2015 and renewable energy balances for about 100 countries and areas for 2014 and 2015. Further, it features statistics on investments in renewable energy from 18 major multi-lateral, bilateral and national development financial institutions, presented for the period 2009-2015.

The World Bioenergy Association (WBA) has launched its WBA Global Bioenergy Statistics report for 2017. The report claims that across the world, bioenergy remains the biggest source of renewable energy. A number of key findings are unearthed by the report. Most significantly, the global supply of biomass increased to 59.2EJ in 2014, a 2.6% rise on the previous year. In total, it accounted for 10.3% of the global energy supply. Biomass also accounted for three quarters of the total renewable energy supply.
