Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission approved by the cabinet recently. The mission will be implemented in three phases and aims to feed 20,000 MW to the national grid by 2022, with an initial investment of Rs 4,337 crore.

Drought has been sweeping the Santhal Pargana Region of Jharkhand.  The region has got less than 70 percent of its rainfall in this year 2009, which has supported in declaraton of drought hit state.  The decision was taken at the meeting of the Advisory Council of the Governor.
