The Manual on the Right to Water and Sanitation is designed to assist policy makers and practitioners in implementing the right to water and sanitation. This publication addresses the vital need to clarify how human rights can be practically realised in the water and sanitation sector.
This paper outlines the nature of the linkages between environment and globalization, especially highlighting the fact that these are two-way linkages: not only can the processes of globalization impact the environment, but the dynamics of the environment can also impact and shape the nature of globalization. It begins exploring these linkages through the lens of five "propositions' that seek to highlight those elements that are particularly prescient for policy-making and policy-makers. The propositions do not seek to cover every aspect of the environment and globalization problematique.
This paper discusses recent trends in poverty concepts and suggest a locally adapted multidimensional model for measuring and monitoring poverty. The model comprises nested layers with subjective wellbeing in the centre surrounded by a core of health, wealth and knowledge, and a context that includes natural, economic, social and political spheres, as well as service and structural aspects.

The scientific understanding of climatic change projections and the associated impacts from these changes, as well as the understanding of the vulnerabilities faced by human societies and structures, will continue to evolve over time. In the same way, procedures and techniques for planning for and adapting to these impacts and addressing vulnerabilities will continue to become more effective over time.
This report presents the results of a survey on "Reporting the Business Implications of Climate Change in Sustainability Reports". This is a survey to catalogue types of reporting on climate change and was conducted by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and KPMG's Global Sustainability Services. The survey found that while almost all companies reported on climate change in their sustainability reports, on closer examination companies reported far more on potential opportunities rather than financial risks for their companies from climate change.
