This West Bengal state action plan on climate change focuses on Water resources, Agriculture, Biodiversity and Forests, Human Health, Habitats and Energy. It identifies two regions as the most vulnerable, namely the northern Hill region which lies in the lower Himalayas & the Sundarbans which is at the Coastal southern end.

The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has released a study that provides scientific and technical information on ways to ensure that the design and implementation of policies for REDD+ (reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation  in developing countries, as well as conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of carbon stocks)

The document analyses past experiences in disaster recovery to facilitate a more relevant, sustainable and risk-reducing recovery process focused on climate resilient livelihoods, infrastructure, institution building, and community-based approaches towards climate resilience.

Southeast Asia, with its linkages into the larger Asian market that includes China, Indonesia, and India, is one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots as well as one of the world’s hotspots for the illegal trade in wildlife and wildlife parts.

This paper looks at the progress made in the implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in the eight countries of the Hindu Kush-Himalayan region using the national reports to the CBD as the primary source.

The book comprises large number of articles based on years of in-depth research in the state by scholars who are affiliated to premier research institutes.

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh State Biodiversity Board is undertaking effective efforts for preservation of biodiversity wealth in the state through public participation. Local bodies, voluntary organisations, youths and students are also being motivated to undertake these efforts. Best Biodiversity Parks have been developed in several districts of the state with private participation.

Aizawl, Mizoram Environment and Forest Minister H Rohluna today made a clarion call to protect the rich biodiversity and emphasised the need to translate the same into developmental venture.
